What is a Lipidologist?
Increasingly, Americans are at risk for coronary heart disease and there epidemic levels of obesity as well as a dramatic rise in diabetes cases. Lipidologists’ goal is to enhance the practice of lipid management in clinical medicine in order to reduce deaths and diseases related to atherosclerotic disease, or disease associated with clogged or narrowed arteries.
Lipidology is a growing multidisciplinary branch of medicine focusing on disorders associated with lipid and lipoprotein metabolism. Dr. Dimick is specially trained to provide her patients with support for diabetes, metabolic syndrome, lipoprotein particle evaluation, genetic disorders of cholesterol metabolism, early detection of cardiovascular disease, and much more.
